Please enjoy my contribution to the Prison for Bitches Lady GaGa Fanzine edited by Ryan Sands and Michael Deforge.

Do yourself a favor and order a copy. Even if, like me and Michel Gondry, you find the lady a little blah blah, there is an AMAZING contributors list.

APE 2009

For the first time eva, I’ll be on a panel at APE this year. The topic is “The ABCs and Zs: The SF Bay Area Scene of Comics, Zines, Community, and Everything in Between” on Saturday at 12:45-1:30.

Mostly I’ll be rapping about the iGoogle Comics Themes campaign, but will certainly also be giving a shout out to the premiere of the Electric Ant Zine Issue 2, at the Bang Gang table (#418) — all of which I am proudly a part.

SF Comics Reading

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

Hey all, CalvinHellen, and I will be taking part in a comics reading on Thursday at Modern Times Books (20th & Valencia - map) at 7pm.

The very talented and funny Joey Sayers and Minty Lewis are having a joint book release party and we’re tagging along (actually, I’m tagging along). Jason Shiga and Tessa Brunton will be reading too.

You should come because I promise to sing at least one comic. Actually, you should come because, while I have no idea what I’m doing, all these other artistes are genuine entertainers!

Germart @ APE 2008

The Alternative Press Expo last month was a hoot! Germart represented with the debut of Dyl & Nate’s Planet Booty album and Consumer Comics Vol. 1, which I put together with a cameo by Miki Amano.

It was also heartening to see the hilarious new mini-comic “Ramble On” from Calvin Wong, the purty, smack talkin’ “Jin & Jam” fancy comic by Hellen Jo, and the worth-waiting-for and very pink Electric Ant Zine.

Planet Booty Photo Shoot

The cover photo shoot for Dylan and Nathan’s soon-to-be-finished “Planet Booty” album spontaneously added a crew of lady folk who just happened to be dolled-up and ready to strut in the Berkeley Hills too.

Thanks to good sports and new friends Kandace, Rachael, Ashely, and Cavan.

The Ultra Super Google Comic Collection

The Ultra Super Google Comic Collection

I taught a ten-week comics class to five rad sixth graders this spring.

But, you say, I thought you were too busy to do anything outside your job? Well, Citizen Schools actually bussed the students to the Googleplex.

The result is 32 pages of comics awesomery covering topics as diverse as sausage with utters, bacon with hands, samurai pigs, the non-knowing bear, and global warming. On second thought, all these topics seem pretty closely related.
