For the first time eva, I’ll be on a panel at APE this year. The topic is “The ABCs and Zs: The SF Bay Area Scene of Comics, Zines, Community, and Everything in Between” on Saturday at 12:45-1:30.

Mostly I’ll be rapping about the iGoogle Comics Themes campaign, but will certainly also be giving a shout out to the premiere of the Electric Ant Zine Issue 2, at the Bang Gang table (#418) — all of which I am proudly a part.

Thanks to everyone who made it out the Orange Room last weekend for our first gig. It was short, sweet, and sweaty. Of course there were a few bumps along the way, but there was also some good ol’ fashioned floor humping– so it all sorta evened out in the end. We’re furiously at work expanding our live set and plan to play again at the Orange Room soon. If all goes well we’ll be gigging like mad come summertime.

We are very pleased to announce that we’ll be playing a short set at the Orange Room in Oakland on Saturday, March 14th. It’s a beautiful space and we hope that this is the first of many collaborative events. We’ll be joined by our pals Tom Lattanand and Rob and Felipe from The May Fire. SUB22 , DJ Bliss Electric, Danny Heines, and Audio Angel will be performing as well. This is our first attempt at bringing the sonic insanity of Planet Booty to the stage and it’s sure to be a night to remember.

Forgive me if you’ve heard this one already, but this Thursday in the historic Niles district of Fremont there will be Art Appreciation Night. So, come to the town where Charlie Chaplin made six movies,countless enemies, and then promptly left. While you’re there, check out the “Live Music, Comedy, Dance, Spoken Word, Photography, Paintings, More”. There is an awesome silent movie theater on the main strip and I have reason to believe that “More” includes Etch-a-sketch landscapes.

Update: Some people want to hate on Art Night Appreciation Night in Niles, but they don’t know how cool Niles is!

The Alternative Press Expo last month was a hoot! Germart represented with the debut of Dyl & Nate’s Planet Booty album and Consumer Comics Vol. 1, which I put together with a cameo by Miki Amano.

It was also heartening to see the hilarious new mini-comic “Ramble On” from Calvin Wong, the purty, smack talkin’ “Jin & Jam” fancy comic by Hellen Jo, and the worth-waiting-for and very pink Electric Ant Zine.

We’ll be at the Alternative Press Expo this weekend. Stop by and say and ‘hi’ and maybe buy some of our brand new stuff. Check out a preview of the first edition of ‘Consumer Comics’ and get a sneak preview of the soon to be released ‘Year of the Dragon’. There’ll be comics, art, music, and mayhem down in booth #453. Bring your friends– especially your rich friends.
